In this training block, Fire Chiefs, Officers and Presidents will be able to explain why a Chaplain is a “Force Multiplier” to the Fire/EMS companies by:
• Stating the increased difficulties of fire Officers due to new building techniques and materials
• Explaining the increased responsibilities upon Fire Officers
• Stating the meaning of command being “In Superior”
• Listing the three primary areas of the Chaplain responsibilities
• Possessing the ability to explain them to others in their departments:
1. Fire Department Staff Officer for Members Assistance
2. Primary Fire Staff Officer for Retention of Fire Department personnel
3. Fire Department Operational Responsibilities
• Understanding the difference between a spiritual and a religious well-being
• Realizing how the trained Chaplain can manage the Fire Chief’s psycho-social, emotional and spiritual program
