Taking Action to Prevent Firefighter Cancer

June 17 @ 13:00 - 14:30

Free

Recent studies have demonstrated that more firefighters are dying each year from cancer than from line of duty injuries. Changes in home construction and the interior products are exposing our firefighters to toxic levels of chemical release. Come learn what actions need to be taken to reduce exposure and minimize the risks of cancer. By the end of this program participants will understand how firefighting increases cancer risks, recent studies that demonstrate the increase in cancer risk, and “Best Practices for Preventing Firefighter Cancer” (From VCOS-NVFC Lavender Ribbon Report)
