Critical Assessment; Thinking About the Call Before It Happens

For both fire and EMS incidents, there are multiple assessment pneumonics and tricks to focus on assessment. However, the evaluation begins before the call is even dispatched. Knowledge of the area, familiarity with the community, and even previous interactions go into the assessment process. Given the fluid scene of today’s environment, responders must develop assessment plans that encompass a routine while providing flexibility and adaptability. This program will discuss the basics of assessment, plus additional steps to assist in developing a solid plan and incident management.
