This presentation will cover United States Fire Administration (USFA) data regarding search and rescue on the fireground. The information shared will explain the USFA data, common misconceptions, inaccuracies and deeper, factual details. Errors regarding the concept of ‘victim survivability profiling’ as well as fear and confirmation bias through social media will be explained. Commonalities among contributing factors in interior deaths will also be presented.
