This seminar is designed for board members, administrative, and operational leaders responsible for volunteer fire or EMS organizations. Effective nonprofit management of membership driven organizations requires a unique set of knowledge, skill, and abilities. Leaders have a legal responsibility to understand their role and how to assure the organization is meeting the needs of the public. Today more than ever elected officials, donors, and the public demand accountability and results. This seminar will provide attendees with important information to improve operations.

Objectives:
• List the key functions of nonprofit management.
• Understand the need for a mission statement and evaluation.
• Describe how to plan and how to define a strategic partnership.
• List board member responsibilities
• Understand the importance of bylaws and meeting minutes.
• Define succession planning and list important administrative policies
• Describe the importance of organizational finance.
